Founded during the Industrial Revolution in 1992, Liverpool John Moores University became one of the UK’s new universities, taking their name from one of Liverpool’s great entrepreneurs and philanthropists, Sir John Moores, whom headed until 1982, the UK’s largest and most profitable privately owned company at the time, «Littlewoods».
