Description
As part of its involvement in One&Only Aesthesis in Glyfada, BRIGHT undertook the lighting design for the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin.
The design combines lighting for ceremonies with the expression of the building's sculptural form. Sources integrated into the floor and ceiling, together with concealed lighting along curves, levels and the base of the church, follow its restrained architecture.
For the central lighting, BRIGHT designed and manufactured a bespoke luminaire serving as a contemporary chandelier, with indirect light towards the dome and integrated downward-facing sources. DALI control allows the intensity to be adjusted for different use scenarios, including the filming of ceremonies.
The gallery includes photographs and lighting simulations. The colour scale in the simulations is used to present the calculation results.
